Miss Houston 2012, Peyton Saverance was invited to be a special guest at the “Blessing of the Fleet” in Kemah, Texas. The Blessing of the Fleet signifies the spiritual opening of the shrimping season, which begins May 15 in Kemah, Tx.  A decorated boat parade and awards for the best shrimp gumbo are part of the festivities at this event. Part of the annual event is the Blessing for the fleet that takes place  at 2 p.m.by Rev. Paul Felix, of Dickinson’s Shrine of the True Cross church, “He will ask for safe passage of the crew, a safe return home, a full net and bountiful returns for the season”.

Miss Houston 2012, Peyton Saverance helps raise over $25,000.00 in bowling for Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization in Houston, Texas. Peyton joins the team of “Texas Emergency Care Center” and enjoys the children especially bowling buddies Kaden & Landon.

Miss Houston 2012, Peyton Saverance participates in the charity walk for the National Alliance on Mental Illness on May 5, 2012 in Houston, Texas.  Charitable contributions raised by this walk provides help and hope to families and individuals affected by mental illness.

Miss Houston & Miss Houston Teen 2012 spend a fun afternoon with “Little Miss Kemah” Winners, Julia & Jenna Cobb at the 3D movie, “The Pirates, Band of Misfits”. The ladies spent time after the movie touring the Ronald McDonald House in Houston, Tx. and met a new friend by the name of Jaylon!

Miss Houston 2012, Peyton Saverance was a special guest at the Lonestar Golf Tournament with charitable gifts benefitting the Ronald McDonald Houses in Galveston & Houston.   Southwest Airlines is the sponsor of the Lonestar Golf Tournament in Friendswood, Tx.

Miss Houston 2012, Peyton Saverance & Miss Houston Teen 2012, Logan Lester were part of a great volunteer project, KABOOM that builds playgrounds within a one day time period for communities that will make a lasting impact on children for decades to come! Peyton & Logan helped build this particular playground with the KABOOM team for the Alief community in Alief, Texas.

Congratulations Peyton Saverance crowned Miss Houston 2012 on April 7, 2012 at the Hilton Post Oak Hotel in Houston, Tx. Peyton also won the Photogenic Specialty Award in the Miss Division.  First Runner-Up was Ashlea Gutierrez, Second Runner-Up was Erin Kay, Third Runner-Up was Desiree Gonzales & Fourth Runner-Up was Nicole Golyer.

Miss Houston, Brittany Booker, Miss Houston Teen , Tiffany Faul & Miss Bay Area Teen, Madison Lee have a great time singing, playing games and laughing with children dressed up as their favorite Princess or Prince at Chic-Fil-A Restaurant.
